Trophies - Pinot Noir 2010 - Monterey
The grapes for this wine are from cool climate appellations in Monterey County. This wine is a blend of several Pinot Noir clones for complexity and balance. On the palate, it delivers flavors of Blackberry and cherry. It is a sensual and transparent wine with medium acidity and silky tannins with a juicy fruit finish. After being gently pressed some wine went straight to French oak barrels and the balance to tank for settling. They were rotated mid-season for optimum finishing. We named this lovely Pinot Noir “Trophies” in honor of three who have won both the NRHA Reining Futurity and the NRCHA Snaffle Bit Futurity. There are two riders in the world and one set of owners who possess these trophies. Todd Bergen who has won over $3.7 Million is pictured on the label, Bob Avila, and truly lucky owners, Alan and Kay Needle.
